The WBKolleg is committed to equal opportunities. It supports the university's efforts and in particular the commitment of the Faculty of Humanities to issues of work-life balance, diversity, equal opportunities, and combating bullying, discrimination as well as sexual harassment.

All members of our working group 

are available to all members of the Kolleg for questions and suggestions of any kind. Your request will of course be treated confidentially.

Furthermore, the Counselling Centre Universities of Bern is available to you competently, free of charge, confidentially and neutrally - especially in questions of sexual harassment or conflicts in supervisory relationships. 

Financial Support

  • Faculty: Funds for individual measures to reconcile family and career as well as for initiatives and workshops that deal with equality. The commission accepts applications online on an ongoing basis.
  • Intermediate Staff Association (in German: MVUB ): Cover of care costs for MVUB members through the MVUB-Care Pool
  • University of Bern: 120%-Care-Grant - funding to support postdocs with care responsibilities
  • University of Bern: Application form for the negative effects of the COVID-19 crisis on young scientists - cf. info sheet of the Mittelbau Association
